Plans for COVID-19 Reopening - Desert Birkenstock
Updated: Apr 28
Hello! to our Desert Birkenstock followers and customers, as well as personal friends and family that have been so supportive of our personnel and the store.
I hope everybody is healthy out there and my sincerest condolences to those of you who lost anybody due to the Coronavirus.
As we move forward in this unusual time, we strive to maintain the levels of service and professionalism that you have always experienced with us and will be crucial in the times to come.
That being said - I think the way we do business everyday is changed. We won't be back to how it was before for a while, maybe never, but I think we can take some valuable lessons from being quarantined. The Stay at Home order, while very inconvenient, also forced many of us to spend quality time with our immediate family members. #bettertogether
My personal opinion about the decline of the family unit and all the studies that have been done - is that we don't spend enough time with our family. Now that it was forced on us - and all of us are now ready to see other people - I sincerely hope that we don't lose the connection that was reforged during this time. Las Vegas is especially unique in that we are a 24/7 city. It is so easy to get
on that hamster wheel and forget why we
do all this.
So our stores going forward will be Closed on Sunday.
Store Hours will be Monday - Saturday 10am - 6pm
If for no other reason than my staff can
have a guaranteed family day. I realize it may not be popular with many of my customers and we will lose some revenue. I believe though that this is the right thing to do for my staff. I don't think I have done as many puzzles or board games in the last 5 years as I have done in the last 6 weeks. We all get so busy. So scheduled.
Having family dinners shouldn't be impossible. Going out as a family - for dinner, the movies, a ballgame or to the park - no matter what that looks like - should be a priority. I want to make sure that I am doing my small little part in making sure that my staff can do those things. There are so many cool things to do in this town that are only scheduled for weekends. This way my staff and myself can participate if we want.
I'm sorry that it may not be convenient for some of you, but I wish that the time you would have shopped with us on a Sunday, you can do something equally as pleasurable with your family. I hope that everyone can come out of this with a greater appreciation for what is truly important and worthwhile.
We thank you so much for your support of #smallbusiness and hope to see you all in the near future.
